The Cluain Mhuire Service is a community based adult mental health service serving a population of over 175,000 in the Dublin South East area.

Cluain Mhuire services include

  • Residential Rehabilitation Service
  • Liaison Psychiatry Service to St. Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown and St. Michael’s Hospital, Dun Laoghaire.

  • Home based interventions and a variety of targeted therapies
  • Cluain Mhuire is the lead agency in the national pilot providing an early intervention service for psychosis in the East Coast Section of HSE Mid Leinster

Nursing and Allied Team

Community Mental Health Nurses and Qualified Psychiatric Nurses are available on each of the Clinical teams and within all centres to deliver agreed treatments and provide care as required. The team are all experienced, work to a recovery model and have specialist areas of interest. Some Nurses are Qualified to prescribe medicines. Nurses are complimented by a team of Social Care Workers who prepare and support people transitioning into independent living arrangements.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is an integral part of the support available to service users. The chaplain is a person appointed to provide spiritual and religious care to those who wish to avail of this service irrespective of any religious denomination, faith community or none.

DETECT

DETECT aims to provide a service for individuals experiencing first episode psychosis and their families living in Cluain Mhuire, Elm Mount, Newcastle and St John of God Hospital catchment areas. DETECT also aims to provide an effective Irish model of early intervention for people with first episode psychosis. www.detect.ie

REACH Training Programme

The programme is a FÁS-funded vocational employment skills training programme for people who have experienced a mental health difficulty. REACH stands for Recovery, Encouragement, Achievement, Confidence and Hope. It is a full-time programme which runs Monday to Friday from 9.15 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. The programme lasts for 21 to 32 weeks, depending on individual needs. www.reachprogramme.ie

Oropesa

Oropesa is a residential rehabilitation and recovery programme based in the community. The programmes offered are based on individuals’ needs, to reach their recovery goals . The services offered in Oropesa are our;

Centre for Living

It is hoped that for most people, hospital admission can be avoided. The Centre for Living, Carysfort Avenue, Blackock, Co. Dublin, is a community based Acute Day Hospital which provides a wide variety of therapies for people experiencing Mental Health Difficulties; dramatherapy, art therapy, yoga, psycho-educational groups to name but a few. The Centre is open 9-5 Monday to Friday. Find us here

Venegas House

A members Club operates on Lower Georges St, in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin. The programme has a social focus and members can drop in for a chat, meet up with friends or join in the classes online casino provided Nederlandsegokken NL by Dun Laoghaire Vocational Education College, which are very popular.
